Leaving on a Jet Plane

I was thinking of the 1966 song by John Denver “Leaving on a Jet Plane,” as I was packing for a week in the Florida Keys
Well our bags are packed
we're ready to go
walked out the door
in the cold white snow
Already I'm so happy I can fly!

The big plane is waiting
we're Florida bound
the weather will be warm
when we hit the ground
with the sun going down in the western sky!

So smile, be happy for me
That you’ll read  e-mails from me
That you’ll follow  my posting on my blog!

Can't wait for the beach
got our snorkeling gear
got all the food and
the wine and beer
I feel Like I'll be out for a whole year!

But I’m told it will end
in seven days
But nothing is certain
in my mental haze
Who knows maybe some wave will take me away!

So smile, be happy for me
That you’ll read  e-mails from me
That you’ll follow  my posting on my blog!

Leaving on a Jet plane
Don’t know when I’ll be back again.
Oh Michigan, I hate to go…..  NOT!
